METRO Cash & Carry (MCC) intends to accelerate its future growth with an entirely new operating structure and leadership model. This will involve giving the MCC country Leadership teams considerably more autonomy and entrepreneurial freedom, which means that the responsibility for certain operating functions will shift from Düsseldorf to the respective countries. At the heart of the new Operating Model lies the basic assumption that METRO Cash & Carry's value added and growth are primarily generated in the countries. Therefore, in the future it will be the local management's responsibility to develop a short, medium and long term Value Creation Plan for their respective country. When creating and implementing their Value Creation Plans, the countries will be supported by the Operating Partners.

Value Creation Manager (m/f)

Your new Role in our Team

  • Business Development: The main responsibility will consist of supporting an Operating Partner (member of the Operating Board of METRO Cash & Carry) with decision making support, analytics, project management and operational implementation support.
  • Analytics at its best: Support the strategy and the value creation plan development with high-impact qualitative and quantitative analysis. Also conduct gap analysis of actual vs. value creation plan for Country Board /Operating Partner updates.
  • Deep dive into markets: Research specific topics, as directed by Operating partner, to help understand market trends and dynamics.
  • Be an instance of competence: Develop regular reporting for the Operating partner on key topics in the value creation plans. Support the operational detailing of the value creation plan (VCP), as requested by the Leadership teams (Operating Partner and Country Board). Also prepare and facilitate the annual review of the value creation plans, make recommendations and support the decision making process for final approval.
  • Push your career: In case of a great performance and personal potencial you can also grow into a Director role after 2-3 years wich is part of our career strategy.

You are a good match!

  • At least 4 years of experience dealing with qualitative and quantitative analyses. Also a strong backround in the field of private equity, M&A or investment banking is requiered.
  • Ability to develop, implement and report operational value-creation measures. Also proven track record of implementing projects and the ability to bring about sustainable change
  • Strong written & oral communication skills (business language English), interpersonal skills and ability to work interdependently. Also an entrepreneurial and international mindset
  • Experience in management consulting or in a business development function as well as international work experience will be seen as an advantage.
  • Willingness to see the world: the position requires frequent travel
